Dr. Laura Thomson

Dr. Laura Thomson received her doctoral degree from the University of Waterloo. She has been a registered Psychologist for the past 25 years, practicing in the areas of clinical and developmental psychology. She has been involved with the Clinical Behaviour Science faculty at McMaster University volunteering in the group studies program.

Dr. Thomson has extensive experience working with individuals with a wide range of difficulties including mood and anxiety disorders, emotional regulation, obsessive compulsive disorder, and interpersonal relationships. She has a special interest in trauma and complex mental health issues. Dr. Thomson offers individual, family and couples therapy utilizing a variety of approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness and collaborative-problem solving.
